The undersigned Cardinal Secretary of State has the honour to acknowledge receipt, from His Excellency the Ambassador of Portugal, of his esteemed Note of the 16th instant, transmitting the petition of the Bishop of Macao requesting approval for the calendar of that diocese, as well as approval for the proper Mass and office in honour of the feast of the translation of the body of Saint Francis Xavier. These documents having been submitted to His Holiness, His Holiness has directed that they be referred to the Congregation for the Sacraments for examination and deliberation.
