The analysis also contextualizes the late development of archaeology in Macau, associated with the absence of a regular framework in the initial period and the effect of transfers of knowledge and practices, highlighting the early campaigns linked to the territory. It concludes that urban archaeology constitutes a particularly suitable approach to face the heritage complexity of Macau, offering instruments to harmonize memory, management, and historical interpretation in contexts of asymmetrical cultural coexistence. |
