The central argument holds that the figures of wine, wind, bamboos, clouds, and poetic encounter function less as thematic ornaments than as passage devices between worlds: between civility and retreat, desire and vanitas, social life and liminal experience.
Methodologically, the author proceeds through comparative approximations and close reading, articulating explicit references to poets and writing regimes (e.g., Wei Mu, Wang Wei, Ruan Ji, Li Bai, Xu-Mo, Han-Shan), to evince how metaphors and textual allusions consolidate a common affective grammar.
