Methodologically, the text combines a historical framing of the urbanism and architecture of power with a typological and comparative reading of constructive solutions associated with municipal centrality, mobilizing metropolitan examples and references to adaptations in overseas contexts. The analysis concludes that, in Macau, the continuity and transformation of these elements produced an "image of power" compatible with the local ordering, integrating the prison and the civic-administrative space into the same system of social affirmation and territorial control. Thus, the Leal Senado emerges as a stage of consolidation of a reciprocal logic between jurisdiction and urban prestige, in which architecture materializes compromises between municipal autonomy and central authority. |
