As main conclusions, it is shown that Vieira de Figueiredo’s social ascent is understood through the convergence of service and recognition and through verification procedures (purity of blood, origin, and status), allowing for the reading of the emergence of an aristocratizing identity in the colonial context of Goa and Macau. |
