a letter nagual from Clarimonte, well-intentioned, stating:

Cirrus, the Castilian Fiscal, before his death, informed us of the proceedings against the accused, Dom. We have been instructed by the Council to proceed with these matters, as requested. We must ensure that, as in the past, when we were faced with despair and distress, the decisions made now are just and fair. However, we cannot overlook the fact that Luis de Mello de Sampaço has stated that the Prince in Portugal is also the King in Macao, and he is here as the Prince was there.
We request Your Royal Highness to order the governors of this province, after their term ends, not to leave office without proper settlement. Indeed, they should pay and compensate for the damages caused during their governance, both to the royal treasury and to the inhabitants, who are far away and cannot bear the full burden of such responsibilities. They may still face lesser consequences than those incurred by the previous governor in India.
João Anes de Sande differs significantly, having already tightened the currency regulations. Cirrus, the Castilian Fiscal, before his death, informed us of the proceedings against the accused, Dom. We have been instructed by the Council to proceed with these matters, as requested. We must ensure that, as in the past, when we were faced with despair and distress, the decisions made now are just and fair. However, we cannot overlook the fact that Luis de Mello de Sampaço has stated that the Prince in Portugal is also the King in Macao, and he is here as the Prince was there.
We request Your Royal Highness to order the governors of this province, after their term ends, not to leave office without proper settlement.
