The documents reveal crucial data on the governance of figures such as Yu Anxing and the implementation of restrictive regulations in the Leal Senado, in addition to exposing cases of administrative corruption linked to the collection of commercial taxes in Macau. This research contributes significantly to the field of Luso-Asian studies, offering a contemporary Chinese perspective on the European presence in the Pearl River Delta and the challenges of foreign and domestic policy during the reign of Emperor Wanli. |
