Despite the city’s inscription as a UNESCO World Heritage Site (WHS) and efforts to promote sustainable tourism, many residents perceive heritage activities as primarily serving tourists rather than the local community. This study employs a mixed-method approach by integrating both qualitative and quantitative data to evaluate the effectiveness of the revitalisation project in Macao, highlighting the necessity for targeted interventions that genuinely reflect local perspectives and experiences to effectively bridge this disconnection. |
