everything was arranged, and even set for the following month of the current year for my confirmation. An unexpected and lamentable event came to disrupt everything, and thus I departed as a Confirmed Bishop:
Most Illustrious Bishop Ypauropolitan, elected Director of the Archdiocese of the Philippines by His Catholic Majesty, who had come here to perform this significant service to the Mission in China, passed away on this day of the current month. Given his eminent character, my recognition of his worth, and most importantly, the national credit he brought, it was deemed fitting that his funeral be celebrated with all pomp and ceremony, as befits the burial of a Prelate of the nation who had ended his days in service to the country. I therefore requested the Most Excellent Governor of the City to permit that that admirable corpse be buried in the Church of the Extinct Convent of St. Dominic, which is used as a cathedral in ordinary times but serves as a general cemetery without a separate burial plot.

everything was arranged, and even set for the following month of the current year for my confirmation. An unexpected and lamentable event came to disrupt everything, and thus I departed as a Confirmed Bishop:
Most Illustrious Bishop Ypauropolitan, elected Director of the Archdiocese of the Philippines by His Catholic Majesty, who had come here to perform this significant service to the Mission in China, passed away on this day of the current month. Given his eminent character, my recognition of his worth, and most importantly, the national credit he brought, it was deemed fitting that his funeral be celebrated with all pomp and ceremony, as befits the burial of a Prelate of the nation who had ended his days in service to the country. I therefore requested the Most Excellent Governor of the City to permit that that admirable corpse be buried in the Church of the Extinct Convent of St. Dominic, which is used as a cathedral in ordinary times but serves as a general cemetery without a separate burial plot.
