| Summary: | This article offers a personal and intellectual tribute to Monsignor Manuel Teixeira (1912-2003), a preeminent figure in Macau’s historiography, in the context of his passing. The author, Ana Maria Amaro, employs a testimonial methodology, drawing on memories spanning decades of close friendship and an analysis of unpublished private correspondence to illuminate Teixeira’s final years.
