| description | This 19th-century transcription documents correspondence related to the governance and administration of Macau during the Portuguese colonial period. It includes a detailed account of interactions between the Portuguese authorities, including the Governor Luis de Mel, and the Genoese community in Macau. The document outlines the handling of complaints and the subsequent actions taken, such as the arrest and confinement of individuals, and the seizure and inventory of goods. Key figures mentioned include Luis de Mel and Antonio Paço de São Luiz, who served as a council member. The text highlights the complex diplomatic and administrative challenges faced by the colonial administration in managing the region, particularly in relation to the Indian Ocean trade and local governance. The document provides valuable insights into the colonial practices and conflicts of the time, making it a significant resource for historians studying late 17th-century colonial administration and governance in Asia. Obs.: Resolução régia para o Conselho dar o seu parecer. O parecer do Conselho é que se agradeça ao Senado da Câmara de Macau o zelo demonstrado. Resolução favorável do rei de 1683-03-10. |

Zetor of the aforementioned Regulus, who also submitted himself to the Emperor,
and was justly punished, paid from the treasury of the same Regulus twenty-three thousand five hundred

the Governor of India, and to Your Excellency in the year 679. With this,
the remedy for Macau was established in the said commerce, unless it were due to their despair at having
a General who sought to intervene through another route, and on that day informed Antonio Pais de Sante, whom they had informed

Lix. 23 of Presete, who was present at the Council, declared that being he Governor Mel, he had written to the City of Macau, through unofficial means, forces, and thefts, that the General Luis de Mello de São Pedro had dealt with these complaints with all the said complaints, and having bought the said complaints with the said complaints that arrived in two ships from Macau to India in May, he was compelled to prevent any harm that could result to V. A.'s service and the preservation of that fort, and fearing that these complaints might lead to unrest, he ordered their arrest and confinement in Macau until they provided satisfaction for what was due. As a result, the goods on one of his ships arriving in Goa were seized and inventoried. Lix. 7 of
