A Graça e amor de Nosso Senhor seja sempre e nossas almas Amen. Andei e ocabe de Camorim pelos lugares
da costa onde saem muitos navios. onde andei os pareces que mandou mte fraco. E estando eu e seu Reino e sincando
alguns navios que são mais de 150000. o Rei por ser péssimo e dos mouros incitado me mandou chamar. E me disse que
não fizesse mil navios. E outras palavras por onde me uniu com conselho dos padres a Goa passei em isto. E nas outras
coisas necessárias prover. E quisessem meus pecados que asse tanto estou que não fiz nada. E se a estas almas lhe
vão acudirem estão em risco de se perderem. E para bem deu cuidar que meus pecados e falta de graça o deve causar.
Ainda e todos os padres sempre o acabaram muito contrário. Certo sei que muitos folgarão de vir a ajudar. E eu que
muito faria de ouvir. Porque certo há muito necessidade de Resistentes da fé que maior pião pode ser em muitos reinos
e lusitanos de modo que pe de por falta de não haver que plantar na vinha do Senhor. Portanto em os Sacrêciós e orações
deuê dizer aqui isto. E de David Deus virtutum convertere respice de celo et visita uraneam istam. A qual certo Ele visita
E com muitos graças milagres sustenta por sua grande misericórdia tão manifestos como (ou pouco menos) fazia em Oporto
de Mouzinho por que o ano passado esteve a Índia toda e se perdeu por terem tomado Diu E a fortaleza desbaratada e
casi tomada. Emigrosamte se tornou a tomar E os tiros que tinham ceuados quem não tomasse fogo pã não matarão
maior parte dos Portugueses que não tinham pera onde ir senão pilla boca dos tiros E assim menos de 30000 matarão
graça mui salva e outros cairão in propria fogueira quam fecerunt E se bem muitos mouros que virão sua moller mui

May the grace and love of our Lord be with us always and our souls Amen. Having travelled and arrived in Camorim along the coast where many ships sail, I found the conditions to be rather poor. While I was there, I observed that the king, who was very bad, and influenced by the Moors, had me summoned. He told me not to build more than a thousand ships. And other words followed, which led me to consult with the fathers and decide to go to Goa on this matter. And in other necessary matters, I provided solutions. If only my sins were such that I had done nothing, but these souls that come to aid them might be at risk of losing their salvation. And for their well-being, he deemed that my sins and lack of grace must be the cause. Even though all the fathers had always strongly opposed this. I am certain that many will rejoice to come and help. And I would have done much to hear, because it is indeed very necessary to have resisters of faith who can play a greater role in many realms and among the Lusitanians, so as not to lack those who can plant in the vineyard of the Lord. Therefore, in the confessions and prayers, he said here what I have written. And of David, God of virtues, turn thine eyes from heaven and visit thy heavenly Jerusalem. Which indeed He visits, and sustains with many miracles and graces, as manifestly as He did in Porto Mouzinho last year when the entire India was lost due to the capture of Diu, the fortress being dismantled and almost captured. Consequently, they were forced to take it, and the guns that were used against them would not kill most of the Portuguese who had nowhere else to go except into the mouths of the guns, and thus fewer than 30,000 were saved, and others fell into their own fire as they did. And if many Moors who followed, as widely known, will come and make their presence felt in the sea campanile, and continue to follow as known, and still, now the Governor, this month of November, over a very strong city, the King of Cambaya, with all his power, which was considerable without any field advantage, and the Governor, miraculously defeated and fled, and thus took the city.
